Movie Review: Love Rosie

THIS MOVIE IS MAJOR GOOD. Like, REALLY GOOD. It's so good that this movie is now my #2 favorite movie of all time. At first I really want to watch it because of Sam Claflin, then I read the summary and I found that it's a complicated love story which I love, so I was really looking forward to watch this piece. 

WARNING SPOILERS!

Set on England, Rosie Dunne and Alex Steward are best friend since childhood. They said boy and girl best friend can get a little bit tricky, so are they. Here comes a beautiful love story which had a lot of obstacles, hurdles, complications. They missed each other all the time, bad timing, crossed each other, but nothing will stand on the way of fate.


THE CAST
Lily Collins and Sam Claflin couldn't do better, they were perfect as Rosie and Alex. Their chemistry in the movie is perfect together. At first I had doubts in Lily because I saw her previous movies (Mortal Instrument, Mirror Mirror) but after I watched Love Rosie, I came to admire her. She's undeniably pretty (BROH that eyebrows), her british accent was on point, and she nailed every emotions. Same goes to Sam Claflin, gosh he's so dreamy. I already like him since I first saw him on Pirates of the Caribbean, and then I'm super excited he got to play Finnick (Hunger Games). He's the perfect Alex. Jaime Winstone who played Ruby (Rosie's girl bestfriend) also what made this movie. She seems really familiar to me, strange. 

THE STORY
Gosh I really adore this love story. It's my kind of love story. I like it when a love story is really complicated and it seem that the 2 lead roles can't possibly be together because all the things happened or maybe because their personalities, but in the end they still ended up together. To be honest, this movie (but not the book) is what I dreamed my life could be (with someone. HA!), kinda reflected my personal life. 

The two that can't be honest with their own feelings, afraid of breaking their friendship. Having to hide their feelings while having different partners time after time. They thought they could forget and set aside their feelings for each other. Having bad timing all the time, having the chances but it was too late. But in the end love will always find a way. 

I thought Rosie being pregnant will ruin any chances of her being with Alex in the end, but I guess the culture there still accept this kind of thing. Even though she had her daughter in such young age, it didn't stop her to pursue her dream & love. "Better late than never.", said Rosie.
In the book they reunited after 50 years, can you imagine that? 

My favorite part would be when Rosie said her speech on Alex's wedding. The speech was so beautiful and touching, plus Alex's face in the entire scene. Let me remind you again of that beautiful speech by Rosie.

"Your friendship has brought glorious technicolor to my life. It’s been there even in the darkest of times and I’m the luckiest person alive for that gift. I hope I didn’t take it for granted.. maybe I did. Because sometimes you don’t see that the best thing that’s ever happened to your is sitting there, right under your nose. But that’s fine, too. It really is. Because I’ve realized that no matter where you are or what you’re doing, or who you’re with, I will always, honestly, truly, completely love you."

For those who long for a good romance movie, I really recommend this.

I was really nervous when waiting for the announcement, but my heart drop when I didn't hear Leo's name. Does the Oscars have something against Leo or what?! When will Oscars recognize his talent? Someday, they will give him an oscar, if not, they're really blind. 

Actress in a Leading Role-Cate Blanchett, Blue Jasmine
My prediction said Amy Adams, but when I see Cate won in BAFTA and others, my hope for Amy gone a bit. So... don't give up Amy!

Actor in a Supporting Role-Jared Leto, Dallas Buyers Club

I haven't seen his movie but from the clip they showed his role is more challenging than Barkhad, even though it's Barkhad's first movie and he did great, Leto is definitely deserved it.

Actress in a Supporting Role-Lupita Nyong'o, 12 Years a Slave

YES YES YES and YES. Finally this gorgeous woman win! A lot of people favoring her and finally she win her first oscar, go Lupita!!

Animated Feature Film-Frozen
As expected, Frozen is a big big hit and definitely gotta have to win. If not I guess people throw a fuss. And I'm so so happy that Frozen won, I love that movie. Who didn't?

Really? I need to see this movie then.

Of course!!! Thing is phenomenal and deserve this. Even though I think "Ordinary Love" is a good one too, but it won Golden Globe already so, Let It Go really deserved this. This song is everywhere.

Eyecandy Blogger: Anastasia Siantar, Branded Blogger

I love stalking blogger's instagram and checking their blog (well although I'm not blogger expert), looking at people in awesome clothes is such an eyecandy for me. So this time I'll be 'reviewing' (?) or talking about this Indonesian blogger currently live in Paris, Anastasia Siantar. I think for now she's the most famous Indonesian blogger. She had attended quite lots of fashion show, and recognize + recognized by some famous people too. 

Although her style is not really my style, but her style is really really good (duh she's world-class blogger, I think). It's classy, elegant, and doesn't hurt the eye (if you look at @dianarikasari's you'll know what I mean). And her glorious hair! Any colours she tried all look perfect, plus her photoshoot backgrounds are always beautiful too (europe places, have the best backgrounds for photos). I love how she frequently update her blogs, because some blogger can sometimes blog only 2-3 times a month, but she usually blog 2-4 times a week!

The cons is that her fashion is expensive! She's born in a really wealthy family and apparently she can buy whatever she wants, branded items of course. Her life is really enviable, she's like this perfect girl who have everything any girl wants! Money, fame, beauty, love, well.. everything. Because she's rich, she's been around the world! I guess she can literally go anywhere she want, super enviable. 

At first I don't really like her because she sent out "rich-girl-who's-life-too-perfect-too-care-others" aura but then I checked her blog (I heard of her from other blogger before) and like her style. I think she really become a really famous blogger since she went to Paris, when I first heard her name I think she still live in Jakarta. Her blog really stepped up since Paris I guess.. And that's good for her! Her fashion also became better and better from the early years, this few years in Paris she became really classy and really.. awesome? But I guess hair colors really make her stand out more. But then her style have always been good.

Almost of her fashion are branded, especially her bags and shoes. Named it, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Hermes, Louboutin, Chanel, Kenzo, anything. She almost always wore Charlotte Olympia's heels, and I think her Hermes bags. Clothes are random, but from what I remember she usually wears Romwe's.

Bittersweet

Sorry for my lack of post this few weeks, and laziness took me away from this blog. It turns out that this blog is becoming more of a weekly journal diary because most of the posts were my personal feelings LOL I wanted to share other things too though! 

My holiday is almost over, tomorrow I'll leave for Taiwan and next monday I'll start the new semester /cringe. I'm not really satisfied with this holiday to be honest, because most of my friends here in Jakarta were busy with their college (Indonesia & Taiwan holidays are different). I spent my time mostly at home, helping my mom cook and washed dishes (everyday because we don't have housemaid anymore). I'll seriously miss my home, my bed, my tv, my kitchen, and mostly my MOM. Because life in Taiwan won't be sweet like home. Time to face reality that is college, I hope everything will be alright this semester. Leaving home will be sadder than the first time I left because now I know what will I miss, what will I face back to Taiwan, etc. 

BY THE WAY, this post's title is named under Arashi's new single 'Bittersweet', the soundtrack for Jun's new drama 'Shitsuren Chocolatier'. I watched 3 (or 4?) episodes already and I don't complain. I still have Miura Haruma's 'Boku no Ita Jikan' waiting to be watch, but.. I'm so lazy to start watching. 

That's all for update in life, I'm so sad holiday is over. On the bright side, next month 20th March my family will visit Taiwan! I don't know I should be happy or sad (because that means my chinese will be really tested when I help them around), but I SHOULD be happy. Right? Ciao 

Drama Review: THE HEIRS

When it was still airing, a lot of my highschool friends watch it and on twitter they were like "omg can't wait for next episode!" "can it he next week already", so I assumed it's a great drama. Most feedback I hear are good feedback, and I'll always watch popular drama with good feedbacks. When I got home few days later I start watching it and guess what? IT'S DISAPPOINTING. Let's see why (my opinions).

BORING MAIN FEMALE
Really? Eun Sang? She's too ordinary if you compare her to other strong female lead, even though they're poor they're not a crybaby like her. I think she cried in every episode, sometimes she'll cry twice or more in an episode. She doesn't have decent characters to be the female lead. And even Young Do fall for her for what exactly? Because Kim Tan like her too he gotta have to like her too so it can be a love triangle? pshhh She's just too flat!

CHEESY AND TOO CLICHE
The Heirs have all elements of asian stereotype drama: love triangle, rich male, poor female, parent's control, rivalry, bitchy females, etc etc. And can we talk about every cheesy line from Kim Tan? They're sweet but... sometimes it'll get too cheesy

I have other things in mind to complain about this drama but my english is not that good to explain them all, so this will be enough . But you can read @allkop's review about it, because it's basically what I think (except the Young Do part).

What I love about Heirs? The eyecandy of course! Lee Minho is dream as ever, but I'm not a fan of Kim Woobin. The cast was not so bad either, I love Choi Jinhyuk as Won, too bad his story didn't end well. And Kim Tan's mom and Eun Sang's mom relationship, that's funny too. And of course why most people love this drama, Chanyoung + Lee Bona.

Home Sweet Home!

FINALLY I am home!!! It feels so great to be home. I arrived yesterday and first went to my bestfriend's house, because it's still flooding at my house, got a little damn flu. And finally today I arrived, went home with little boat because of the flood. I feel like a princess here while I felt like a peasant back in my dorm lol. I feel like I never left Jakarta before, but honestly I feel a little out of place because my house just went on renovation when I went to Taiwan, so.. something's a bit different, but it feels GREAT! I can never go hungry at home because of my awesome cooking mom.

I guess I'll miss my home a lot this time when I'll back to Taiwan because I know what will I miss and what will I face in Taiwan this time.

Flood in the Way

I was supposed to fly home today, but because of terrible flood happening in my country I'm forced to change the date to 22nd (Wed). BUT today the flood is getting worser and my dad told me to change it again to 25/26.. Well I guess it's better to spend my time here in Taipei instead of back home and dealing with the flood, I can't go anywhere nor can I meet my friends! And what if blackout come? Gonna have to patiently wait until 25th.. *deep sigh*

At least I'm not alone in the dorm! I still have my best roommate here because she's not going home this winter break. I hope the rain will stop in Jakarta, and everyone will be safe and no serious damage to the house.

Winter Holiday

FINALLY it's holiday!!! It already begin this week though, and I've been shopping and went downtown this past few days. And finally this Sunday I'll be going home to Jakarta! I'll be back to Taipei in 14th February~ 

Some part of me feels excited to go home and another part I feel pressured to back home, I know my chinese is not expert yet.. I hope my parents won't expect too much, but I'm also hoping I'm not that bad too (in chinese). 

I can't wait to meet my friends, family, and eat a whole lot of my home's dishes! D-2!!

PCA 2014!

I have yet to watch the full show, I just watched some winning clips. Most important of all, Ian & Nina won on-screen chemistry!!! Can you believe their winning speech? They made jokes about they're on-off screen relationship... they admitted they date & broke up, I feel sad, yet happy because even though they're broken up they're still very good friends. And later Ian tweeted happy birthday to Nina! 

And can we just talk about Robert Dawney Jr. amazing acceptance speech? He was meant to be Ironman. I just love this guy! Plus when Ellen tried to get up instead of JT when he was going to receive his award lol

Procastinating

I think I have serious problem of procastinating, because usually I tend to take my responsibilities aside.. I have 1 exam left this week on friday, so I don't have classes at all on monday-thursday. I will sleep at 2am, and wake up at 1pm. Today I slept at 3am and woke up 3pm, my sleeping schedule is uncontrolled. I have nothing to do so I immediately took a bath and playing with my laptop. 

What do I usually do with my laptop? I'll check facebook (feeds & games), tumblr, youtube, LJ, mangareader, listening to music, watching videos, and then I'll check my phone too (insta, twitter, path, line games, etc). I spent most of my time with all of these instead of studying D:

I take things easily, end of story.

The Rivals

I just watched Rival special of Immortal Songs 2 today, between Ailee and Hyorin. I thought they have one of the most amazing voice in Kpop, yeah they're indeed rivals. Sometimes I think Hyorin got a little bit exposed in Sistar but then her voice is the heart of sistar's songs.

I really love Hyorin's rendition of 'Let it Go', I thought it was great. In this immortal song performance, I think Hyorin did a great job, but the last high-note was a little bit strained you can hear it clearly. I was a little worried for her, because I once watched a variety show where sistar checked their vocal throat (?) and it showed that Hyorin is the most strained one. 

And my opinion Ailee won on this one. Her voice seems more natural and not strained, plus for her emotions (Hyorin did a good job on the dance too thou)

New Year News

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014! 
So finally it's a new year, and now I'm officially 19!! I'm getting older.. urgh.. 
I was pretty happy because I get to spend my new year with my friends, I got 2 cakes, never happen before and a birthday is a great day, you know. At first I was not satisfied and worried people don't wish me enough but then more and more people give me wishes, I got present from my sister plus my fam's voice notes wishing happy birthday and I just thought, I need to thank whatever I received right now plus be happy in this special day. 

End with the birthday talk. In this beginning of the year there are already 2 big news. FIRST, YOONA and LEE SEUNGGI is DATING and I'm FREAKIN happy! they're so cute together and now I'm rewatching whatever youtube have related to their interaction! I hope they'll last forever and make babies lol

SECOND, OSHIMA YUUKO of AKB48 are freakin GRADUATING. I was like... WTF?? Now I guess this year Mayuyu will finally be No.1, I have really big feeling that'll finally happen. Even though Sasshi is No.1 this year, I feel like Mayuyu always be the center in many performances. But KFC is a big thing this year, I think I already remember all the dance moves. I just hope my Yukirin will be 2nd this year.. 

Oh oh! and this year Kouhaku, Shirogumi won!!! Arashi won!!! They've been hosting for 4 years straight, and the only time they loose was when Mao-chan co-hosting! maotsujun 

That's all for my 1st blog entry this year. I'm happy for everything happened in 2013, it was all meant to be and I don't want to regret anything. I hope 2014 I will crack from my shell and just be more.. talkative and active. That 2 things are so hard to do, as I'm not confident enough as a person. Thankyou God for everything :)

It's Freezing

Yeah currently it's pretty damn cold in Taiwan.

lol jk I'm gonna talk about a movie (that I haven't watch). Frozen.

Of course you know Disney's latest animation movie Frozen right? I. haven't. watch. it. In my hometown every disney newest movie out I'll watch it right away, but not in Taiwan. It's tiring to go to downtown, and the cinema is pretty expensive. (I only watched catching fire here)

Yes, about Frozen, currently the song 'Let it go' from its soundtrack keeps playing in my head and I keep replaying it too from my earphones. It's pretty rare for me to be obsessed to a movie song before watching it first. Maybe it's because a lot of great feedback from my friends. On path (socialmedia), when it first came out in Jakarta, everyone keep updating that they're listening to 'let it go'. It made me wonder "was it that great?". At first I didn't wanna be spoiled but then I can't help it and finally watch the clip from youtube. I LOVE IT! The animation from the scene looked really cool too! I can't wait to watch it.

But I'm a bit afraid if I expect too high from this movie, then I'll end up pretty disappointed. fingercrossed. 3 weeks 'till home bound!

End of Year

Sorry for not updating for 1 week already I think? I'm in the midst of finals, though my exams are not everyday, I'll have 2 this tuesday, and it's new year's eve for God sake. Then I'll have to listen to this seminar and make a report, urgh. At night I'll have end of year event at the church, I hope it'll be fun.

Sooo... it's gonna be 2014 real soon, it felt so quick right?? and I'll turn 19 just in 2 days more omg, I'm gonna be old soon. This year, I started my college in Taiwan but I don't think my chinese improved much (as you see on my older post). But I really look forward to 2014, umm.. actually I look forward to holiday which start after 10th January.

Favorite Movie of ALL time

Today I'll share my favorite movie of all time!!!

THE SOUND OF MUSIC!!!!

Yes yes yes my favorite movie of all time is The Sound of Music, classic movie forever! When I heard of sound of music "The hills are aliveee~~" first came to my mind. I think I watched this movie more than 15 times, and I won't get bored watching. When I flew to Taiwan this year I watched this movie too on the plane, thank God they have it.

I pretty much remember all of the lyrics and words per scene lol. Super love Julie Andrew's voice, its very smooth and clear plus unique, too bad God took it too fast. I basically love musical movie so this movie eventually came 1st in my list. Christopher Plummer is such a dreamy Captain Von Trapp, he live the character.

I can't even choose my favorite song, I LOVE all of the songs.

When Oprah invite all the cast prior 50 anniversary, I went crazzzzyyyy. I watched it together with my family that time, and I have to thank Oprah!!! It brings back so much memory. and omg Liesl you used to be the tallest andn ow you're the shortestttt lol. I'm so giggly when Liesl's actress (I forgot her name blah), confessed that she had a huge crush on Christopher Plummer (Captain), that was so cute! Should I say more about Julie Andrews? She just plain awesome.

Fyi, they did a live action based on the broadway show with Carrie Underwood as Maria, the show was all live show, and they had a massive studio to filmed it. People said it was horrific but.. I think Carrie had a good live voice. I have yet to see it.. Still have no clue where to watch it though

Secret Angels

Yeah, when I mentioned Secret Angels I must be talking about Victoria's Secret Fashion Show!!! It's the time of that day again!! The show just aired today & I just watched it. Breathtaking as always. My favorite gotta be 'Snow Angels', everything is just beautiful. And Taylor Swift rocking it, I also love FOB performance as well.

I always knew that Cara is a dorky models but I never actually see her in videos (I just check her instagram), seeing her there actually made me thought she's seems really fun & plus-plus the accent!!! The story of Lais who couldn't make the show last year, last-minute-falling is just horrible. But I'm happy she get to open the 'Birds of Paradise' section. When Adam Levine got super excited and cute everytime Behati walk is.. pretty cute? I thought Behati is a good model. Sui He!!!! She's so pretty and not overly skinny! And she's asian!!! Is it just me or she's the only asian this year?? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I found that some of the models are too skinny to be in VS Show :/ The older Angels seems to be better.. For me the best bod' goes to Adriana, hands up. Candice get no 2. When they filmed Adriana's work out I was like.. damn girl!

Lowering Head

Why's the title like that? Lowering head is actually mean that I lowered my head too much on my phone everyday. 

Most of my classes in college are boring, I can't really understand what the teacher are saying in chinese so I just play with my phone. Either open-close-open-close my instagram, twitter, path, gossip news, games, etc. I played LINE games such as I love coffee, pokopang, pong, wind runner, candy crush (yeah), those are great medicine for boringness. 

Most of my time in class I did all that (1 class = 2 hours), that's why I don't get many friends in class. Not that I abandoned my subjects, I still can learn from the ppt the teacher give (although some need books).

I feel that this routine of mine since I moved here is not good, my eyesight can become worse. But then everyday I see my phone, at night I see my laptop. I just hope that when I got home my eyesight won't be damaged that much. Fingers crossed.

AND I CAN'T WAIT TILL I GOT BACK HOME! YIPPEE WINTER HOLIDAY!!

The Originals Recap: Ep9 "Reigning Pain in New Orleans"

Klaus didn't really win to me here even after he win the empire from he Marcel, he admit that he can't gain the respect & love that Marcel received from the community. It was funny when Klaus spill the dirt he used to lied on Marcel and Marcel just said "Thanks for the honesty". My feeling just told me that Marcel still want the empire back even though he said to Rebecca that he made allies with Klaus (poor Rebecca lost a guy again, I actually like them together!)

I feel really bad for the pastor, he just become Klaus' dog, doing this doing that for the sake of the normal people. The Mayor is really dumbass saying that kind of stuff to an original like Klaus, he even went against Klaus, he of course ended up dead. (Again poor pastor had to cover all up)

Oh Cammi oh Cammi can you just stay out of all this? Even though I feel she was pretty clever how she recorded that out. I was soooooooo happy when I thought she can finally gone for good (I can't & won't accept her as Caroline 2.0), but then come bitch Davina. Seriously? How can Cammi can help her? Because she knew Klaus kinda like Cammi? OH PLEASEEE (but then Klaus most likely won't hurt Cammi because the writers want them to hook up but hell to the no)

I guess from the next preview the witches will get back in action after last time absent. I wonder what Sophie up to now.. And Davina did NOT just attack Klaus, you just stay there and kill the witches you hate. Cammi cracked me out when she just yelled all hero "Stay the hell away from her!" The writers just used her because we knew Klaus will never get Cammi hurt, so she can protect Davina, oh man.

Davina is just full of herself (quoting from a youtube user), saying that she'll kill all of them with that bitch I'm-the-most-powerful-here face. Can't she remember that Marcel is the one who saved her from death? Even though now she thought that Marcel is just using her (I know it's still upsetting when someone used you but still..). I wish she will end up dead, ugh.

For Elijah.. I hope he just hook up with Hayley. In that scene I was saying "KISS KISS KISS" but no it didn't happen, maybe later. I thought it was despicable of Klaus not answering Hayley question "so what will happen to be after I give birth to the baby?" obviously she just a basket carrying Klaus' child.

Outsider

As you all may know I'm currently studying in Taipei, it has been 3 months by now and to be honest my chinese didn't developed much.. reason? because everyday I still hanging out with my indonesian friends, I eat dinner with them everyday and they're my best pals right here. If I want to improve my chinese, I actually need to hang around taiwanese everyday and living with chinese every second. But my one of my roommate is indonesian, my best friends here are indonesian, not that I complain but, it's really not the best way to learn a native language by hanging around 'your people'.

It's not that easy being a foreigner (plus you're a quiet one), you don't even understand what they're (native) talking about. Yeah I got friends in my class, but I hardly chat with them (let's just say A and B), I just hang around them. It's better than being alone you know (and there are like 2 loner people in my class). Maybe because I don't take initiative to talk first or just go with their flow, but I always found myself silent while they 2 chatting something I don't know (most of it), but it's not like they ignore me though. I try to talk as much as possible but it's certainly not enough. I am a quiet & shy person to begin with and now add my burden with language barrier, I am literally a stone. 

I only say things when there's something to talk about, or to ask about. A only chat with B because she thinks my chinese is not good enough so why does she had to chat with me when I can't understand what she's saying, sometimes I do feel left out. But they're good people because I can still hang around with them, still... I want to get closer, I want to chat with them too! Not just asking and un-important stuff!

I know all of my classmates, but I only talked to... maybe 20% of them. I share greetings with 15% others. I think I'm the nerd and un-cool one in the class HAHA while in high school I'm the average one, GOD I MISS HIGHSCHOOL! I got  other 4 other roommates who's also foreigner so... does that help? It's not enough though... 

I ask myself, "when will this last?" "how long does it take until I can speak & read like native?" I know the time will come, and it MUST come.
